Sonam Wangchuk (सोनम वांगचुक), Engineer & Education Reformer, born 1966-09-01. Life Path 5, Mulank 1, Expression 6, Soul Urge 6.
Expression 6 is the Chaldean value of the full name, reduced, and Soul Urge 6 is the same calculation over the vowels alone. Both depend on the exact spelling used, which is why published figures for the same person differ between sites; this site uses Chaldean letter values throughout.
Work out your own the same way, free: the Mulank and Bhagyank calculator takes a date of birth, and the Chaldean name calculator takes a name.
These are Sonam Wangchuk's numbers, worked out from a public birth date the same way yours would be. Yours are different: the complete numerology report works out your Mulank, Bhagyank and name number and shows every calculation.
Sonam Wangchuk carries the restless reformer energy of Life Path 5 — the number of change, adaptability and freedom — anchored by the pioneering independence of Mulank 1, ruled by the Sun. Born on 1 September 1966 in Ladakh, his chart mirrors a life spent breaking conventional moulds: he founded SECMOL in 1988 to reinvent Himalayan schooling, engineered the Ice Stupa artificial glacier to fight high-altitude water scarcity, and received the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2018. The 5's versatility explains his fluid movement across mechanical engineering, eco-architecture and climate innovation, while Mulank 1's Sun-driven originality shows in his willingness to lead from the front. His Chaldean name number reduces to the compound 51 → 6 — the caregiver — directing all that dynamism toward community, education and ecological stewardship.
Mulank 1. The Mulank comes from the day of the month alone: the 1st gives Mulank 1.
Life Path 5. The Life Path uses every digit of the birth date and reduces to 5.
Wangchuk's path follows the classic Life Path 5 arc: constant reinvention rather than a single fixed track. Trained as a mechanical engineer, he moved into education reform, solar-heated earthen architecture, and Himalayan climate engineering — each shift an expression of the 5's need for variety and problem-solving freedom. Mulank 1's Sun energy gives him the confidence to pioneer untested solutions, from the SECMOL campus that runs on passive solar design to the Ice Stupa that stores winter meltwater as artificial glaciers. His Chaldean Expression 6 keeps this innovation anchored to a service purpose: technology built for communities rather than commerce.
As a Mulank 1 with Life Path 5, Wangchuk combines original, self-starting leadership with restless adaptability. The number 1 lends independence and the courage to challenge institutions; the number 5 adds curiosity, communication skill and comfort with disruption. His Chaldean Expression and Soul Urge of 6 soften that dynamism with a strong sense of responsibility and care for the collective — the reason his experiments consistently aim at education, water security and ecological balance rather than personal gain.
5 — the Catalyst of Change. Derived from his birth date (1 September 1966: 1+9+6+6+0+9+0+1 = 32 → 5), it represents adaptability, freedom and a drive to disrupt convention, mirrored in his versatile career across engineering, eco-architecture and climate innovation.
1, ruled by the Sun. Born on the 1st, he carries pioneering independence and original, self-directed leadership — the energy behind founding SECMOL and inventing the Ice Stupa artificial glacier.
In the Chaldean system his full name reduces to the compound number 51 → 6, the number of the caregiver. It points to a life directed toward community, education and ecological responsibility rather than personal ambition.
