Shiv Nadar (शिव नादर), Founder, HCL Technologies, born 1945-07-14. Life Path 4, Mulank 5, Expression 1, Soul Urge 3.
Expression 1 is the Chaldean value of the full name, reduced, and Soul Urge 3 is the same calculation over the vowels alone. Both depend on the exact spelling used, which is why published figures for the same person differ between sites; this site uses Chaldean letter values throughout.
Work out your own the same way, free: the Mulank and Bhagyank calculator takes a date of birth, and the Chaldean name calculator takes a name.
These are Shiv Nadar's numbers, worked out from a public birth date the same way yours would be. Yours are different: the complete numerology report works out your Mulank, Bhagyank and name number and shows every calculation.
Shiv Nadar, born July 14, 1945, carries Mulank 5's Mercury energy — the planet of technology, communication, and innovation. His Life Path 4 (Rahu) adds systematic building capability and unconventional thinking. As the founder of HCL Technologies, one of India's largest IT companies, his Mercury Mulank perfectly explains why he saw India's tech future decades before others.
Mulank 5. The Mulank comes from the day of the month alone: 14 reduces to 5.
Life Path 4. The Life Path uses every digit of the birth date and reduces to 4.
Shiv Nadar's career is the definitive story of Mulank 5's Mercury energy building India's technology foundation. In 1976, when India was still an agrarian economy, his Mercury-driven vision led him to manufacture microcomputers — a decision that seemed absurd to contemporaries. HCL became India's original garage startup, eventually growing into a $13B IT services giant. Life Path 4's Rahu energy drove unconventional decisions: manufacturing hardware when others focused on software, and later pivoting to services when the market shifted.
Shiv Nadar is the quiet tech visionary of Indian business — Mulank 5's Mercury intelligence expressed without fanfare. Unlike flashier tech billionaires, his Life Path 4 creates a preference for systematic, behind-the-scenes building. He is the rare billionaire whose philanthropy matches his business achievement.
