How to Find Your Lucky Colour From Your Date of Birth
Lucky colours follow the planet that rules your Mulank, so the whole calculation starts from your day of birth. Nothing else is needed.
The manual method
- Work out your Mulank by reducing your day of birth to one digit.
- Find its ruling graha: 1 Sun, 2 Moon, 3 Jupiter, 4 Rahu, 5 Mercury, 6 Venus, 7 Ketu, 8 Saturn, 9 Mars.
- Take that graha's colours — for instance Sun gives golds and deep oranges, Moon gives whites and silvers, Venus gives whites, pinks and pastels.
- The colours of a graha unfriendly to yours are the ones to use sparingly, particularly on days that matter.
Worked example — born 1992-03-14
- Day of birth 14 → 1 + 4 = 5, so Mulank 5.
- Mulank 5 is ruled by Mercury — greens and light, mixed shades.
What this number does not tell you
Colour is the gentlest lever in numerology. It is read as supportive of mood and presentation, nothing stronger, and no colour will change an outcome on its own.

Do I have to wear the colour, or is carrying it enough?
Either is considered sufficient. Wearing it is the common form, but a carried item or an accessory in that colour is treated the same way. The tradition is about proximity, not surface area.
What if my lucky colour does not suit me?
Then use it in a small way — an accessory, a lining, something that is yours rather than on display. No practice worth following asks you to dress in a way you dislike.
